For women and girls to truly thrive, they must first feel safe. A sense of physical, emotional, and social security allows them to step into leadership, complete their education, seek justice, and actively shape their futures. Without safety, progress stalls. Building environments where women and marginalized communities feel protected lays the groundwork for inclusive, resilient, and empowered societies.
At the heart of our work is the belief that informed, confident women are better equipped to protect themselves and support one another. Our strategy focuses on strengthening individual and collective capacity by providing access to accurate information, essential resources, and community support. By partnering with local authorities, civil society, and grassroots networks, we work to create safety structures that are proactive, rights-based, and responsive to local needs.
We adopt a layered, collaborative model to build safer spaces and reduce harm. Our work includes prevention and response to Gender-Based Violence, strengthening Child Protection mechanisms, advocating for Safe Public Spaces, improving Access to Justice, and incorporating Safety into Disaster Preparedness planning. A key focus is sensitizing local governance structures like Gram Panchayats to recognize and act on safety-related issues in their communities.
