Samarthan Mahila Sangathan, promoted by Utthan, is a grassroots federation committed to building leadership and collective strength among marginalized women in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat. Established in 2009 to advance gender equity and social justice, we are mobilizing women around their rights, addressing gender-based violence, strengthening livelihoods, and supporting women’s participation in local governance. We work to ensure access to land rights, legal support, and public services, while fostering gender-sensitive community development. By promoting awareness, skill-building, and solidarity, we are creating pathways for women to lead and transform their communities. Currently, we are active in 72 villages, uniting over 1,875 members under a shared vision of empowerment and resilience.

We are breaking down barriers of inequality, fostering a community rooted in shared rights and opportunities, and inspiring women to realize their fullest potential. Together, we are building a foundation for a future anchored in empowerment, resilience, and collective progress.

We are working to uplift women and young girls by strengthening their leadership capacities and equipping them with the essential resources, knowledge, and tools to make their voices heard. We are ensuring their control over economic assets, improving access to vital services, and enabling them to make autonomous decisions about their bodies and futures. Through our efforts, we are creating pathways for women to fully exercise their rights and achieve meaningful change in their lives.
